As the end of the season approaches, companies often organize team building activities to give their employees a break from the daily routine and to strengthen team bonds. This year, our company decided to take the team to experience the traditional Northeast Chinese bath culture, known as "Dongbei Xiyu."
Dongbei Xiyu is a type of bath therapy that originated in Northeast China and dates back to over 400 years ago. It involves soaking in heated water that contains medicinal herbs, roots, and traditional Chinese medicine ingredients. The process is said to have multiple benefits for the body, including detoxification, relaxation, and improved circulation.
Our team traveled to a Dongbei Xiyu center in a nearby city to experience this traditional bath culture. Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm smiles and were guided to our changing rooms. We were given a set of cotton pajamas to wear during the bath experience.
The bath area was spacious and divided into multiple sections. Each section contained a large pool filled with the herbs and medicinal ingredients, and a smaller pool with cold water for a quick cool-down. There were also multiple saunas and steam rooms to explore.
As we soaked in the hot water, we enjoyed conversations and laughter with our team members. It was a great opportunity to relax and bond with each other in a unique setting. We also tried out the different saunas and steam rooms, each with their own unique benefits.
After a few hours in the bath, we left feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. The experience was not only fun, but it also taught us about traditional Northeast Chinese culture. We were able to appreciate the importance of self-care and rejuvenation, and we left with a deeper understanding of the benefits of traditional medicine.
In conclusion, our company's end-of-season team-building activity was a great success. The Dongbei Xiyu experience was a unique and educational way to reconnect with our team members and learn about traditional Chinese medicine culture. We look forward to continuing these kinds of activities and exploring more of China's rich cultural traditions in the future.
