Product Overview

Custom Rubber D Rings (D-Profile Seals) are specialized elastomer components designed with a D-shaped cross-section to provide superior sealing and cushioning in static and dynamic applications. Unlike standard O-rings, the flat base of the D-Ring eliminates the tendency to twist or roll during installation, making it the ideal solution for reciprocating motion seals and flat-groove assemblies.

Engineered for reliability, our D-Rings are available in high-performance materials such as Nitrile (NBR), EPDM, Viton (FKM), and Silicone. Whether used as a heavy-duty bumper, a static face seal, or a drive belt connector, our custom-molded D-Rings offer excellent compression set resistance and long-term durability in harsh industrial environments.

The "Non-Rolling" Seal Design

The defining feature of the Rubber D-Ring is its geometric stability. The flat base provides a broad contact area that anchors the seal in the groove, preventing the spiral failure often seen in O-rings under high pressure or reciprocating movement. The rounded top profile ensures a precise sealing line that compresses efficiently under load.

We offer both solid D-rings for maximum pressure resistance and hollow D-profiles for high-deflection door and hatch seals. Custom corners and continuous extruded loops are also available to fit any housing geometry.

Product Applications

Universal Sealing & Damping Solutions

The stable D-profile makes these rings indispensable in reciprocating hydraulic pistons where rolling O-rings cause failure. They are also widely used as protective bumpers on electronic device housings and industrial machinery doors.

In the food and medical industries, our hygienic D-Rings serve as easy-clean connector seals for Tri-Clamp fittings and fluid transfer lines, ensuring a bacteria-free interface.

Installation & Maintenance Guide

🛠️ Best Practices for D-Ring Installation

1
Orientation Check
Crucial: Ensure the flat base of the D-Ring sits flush against the bottom of the groove to prevent tilting.
2
Lubrication
For dynamic seals, apply compatible grease to the rounded top surface to reduce startup friction and wear.
3
No Twisting
Unlike O-rings, a twisted D-Ring will fail immediately. Inspect the entire perimeter before closing the housing.
4
Compression Limit
Maintain 15-25% compression. Over-compression can cause the flat base to buckle or shear.

FAQ – Request For Quotation

❓ Can D-Rings replace standard O-Rings?

Yes, in many cases. If your O-ring is twisting (spiraling) in a dynamic application, a D-Ring is a direct upgrade. We can design the D-Ring to fit your existing O-ring groove.

❓ What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for custom sizes?

For custom molded D-Rings, our MOQ typically starts at $200-$300 USD per size to cover setup costs, regardless of the quantity. Larger quantities significantly reduce the unit price.

❓ Do you offer splicing for very large D-Rings?

Yes. For extremely large diameters (e.g., >1 meter), we can use hot-vulcanized splicing to join extruded D-profiles, creating a strong ring without the need for an expensive giant mold.
