Product Description：

PTFE Encapsulated O-Rings combine a chemically inert PTFE (FEP/PFA) jacket with an elastic elastomer core such as Silicone or Viton®. This hybrid construction provides exceptional chemical resistance, wide temperature capability, and reliable sealing performance in demanding environments. The PTFE outer shell ensures low friction and resistance to aggressive media, while the inner core delivers flexibility, compression, and recovery for effective sealing. Ideal for applications involving corrosive fluids, high purity processes, and temperature fluctuations.

PTFE Encapsulated O-Rings are available with two main elastomer cores:

▲ FKM (Viton®) Core

• Excellent compression set resistance
• Higher temperature stability
• Suitable for aggressive chemical environments
Temperature Range: -20°C to +204°C

▲ Silicone Core

• Superior flexibility & low-temperature elasticity
• Ideal for applications requiring low squeeze force
Temperature Range: -60°C to +200°C

PTFE Jacket Types

Two PTFE-based jacket materials are commonly used:

FEP is suited for most standard chemical applications,
while PFA is preferred in environments requiring extreme durability and high temperatures.

 

Solid-Core vs. Hollow-Core

PTFE Encapsulated O-Rings can be supplied with:

● Solid-Core (Standard)

• Best recovery
• Maximum sealing force
• Superior resistance to compression set

Recommended for static sealing in critical environments.

● Hollow-Core (Optional)

• Reduced installation force
• More flexible sealing
• Suitable for delicate equipment or thin-walled hardware

Because PTFE jackets have limited stretch, proper installation is essential.

1. Pre-Heating (Recommended)

Heat the O-rings to improve flexibility:
Hot Water Method
• Place in 100°C water for 3 minutes
• Install immediately while warm

Oven Method
• Heat at 100°C for 10–15 minutes
• Install while still warm

2. Avoid Damage

• Ensure hardware edges are smooth
• Do not overstretch the O-ring
• Use lubrication if compatible with the process

•Precise inspection, zero-defect quality, ensuring both delivery time and quality.

•Meets the 125/1008H high-temperature aging test requirements of the new energy industry;

•Withstands commercial cleaner (Alcohols, Alkalis, Oils) test requirements.
