❓ Is Neoprene sleeving the same as heat-shrink tubing?

No. Standard Neoprene sleeving does not shrink when heat is applied. It is a highly elastic rubber. To install it over cables or connectors, you mechanically stretch it (often using a three-pronged expansion tool) or use a specialized rubber lubricant (like Hellerine oil). Once stretched over the component, its natural elasticity allows it to grip tightly.

❓ What is the minimum wall thickness you can extrude?

Depending on the inner diameter (ID) and the hardness of the Neoprene compound, we can typically extrude wall thicknesses down to 0.5mm (0.020"). For very thin walls, we use continuous laser scanning to ensure the sleeve does not collapse or become oval during the microwave curing process.

❓ Can you supply the cut-to-length sleeves slit down the middle?

Yes. If you need to retrofit Neoprene sleeving onto an existing wire harness without disconnecting the terminals, we can provide the sleeving with a continuous longitudinal slit. This allows the sleeve to be easily wrapped around the wire and then secured with cable ties or tape.
